Eric Kvatek

ERIC KVATEK is a documentary and fashion photographer. Through an up-close and full-service approach to his worldwide projects over the past 30 years, Kvatek has photographed everything from tsunamis and Hurricane Sandy to slice-of-life coverage of bars and alleys in South East Asia. An Ohio native, Kvatek received a fine arts degree from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque in drawing and his hobby of vintage clothes picking swept him away on an odyssey of selling vintage American clothing in Japan. His vintage fashion connections lead him to an interest in Japanese denim, from which he eventually got introduced to Kiro Harata, the key designer for the apparel company Kapital. The two have collaborated on seasonal look-books for the brand since 2005.
