LEIGH RUPLE's paintings depict quiet moments of romance within glowing urban environments, often capturing light in motion. Views of the city, observed and imagined, appear digital or airbrushed with streetlights and other artificial sources. From close inspection, precise gradations of color and sharply defined planes are rendered by hand, revealing a highly accurate touch.

Ruple received her BFA from the Cooper Union and MFA from Bard College. Her work will be the subject of a solo presentation at the Independent fair in 2020 with PAGE (NYC).
