Patrick Parrish Gallery is thrilled to present the first solo show of new works by Christopher Prinz. Prinz is an Omaha-based artist and industrial designer seeking to expose the extreme and rarely visible possibilities of materials and processes associated with manufacturing and construction.
"Each work for this exhibition began as a small sketch made by hand in aluminum foil. Heavy industrial equipment was used to mimic the work of my fingers on the foil to steel at full scale. Hundreds of tons of pressure bore down on each piece, wrinkling it into shape while storing this pressure and energy within its geometry. I intend for each piece to return this energy back into the formal space it occupies.”
Christopher Prinz was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He earned a BFA degree in Industrial Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. This is Christopher’s first solo show in New York City.
