Hand-carved cherry wood and milk paint stool, side table and sculpture by Hudson Valley-based artist Christopher Kurtz. Inspired by the “Pavilion in the Pond” at Philip Johnson's Glass House, where Johnson explored the optical effect of a series of arches turning a corner—a simple experiment with incredible sculptural possibilities.
This piece was featured in Kurtz's 2018 solo exhibition, Sculptures of Furniture: A Windsor Alphabet, at Patrick Parrish Gallery.
