Sage Schachter | Patrick Parrish

Sage Schachter

SAGE SCHACHTER is a young British-American artist studying fine art at the School of Visual Arts. In his platypus sculpture, he is depicting a platypus that is struggling due to an oil spill. He works in mixed media, often merging aspects of painting and sculpture.

Utilizing vivid colors, distorted compositions, and especially humor, Schachter’s paintings and sculptures use a distinct language of caricature to portray people, animals, and events that surround him to highlight the heightened absurdity of present-day society.
